The Fireplace Xtrordinair wood-burning line offers high-quality fireplaces with catalytic technology, made by Travis Industries in Washington State. Condar Company manufactures replacement catalytic combustors for these units, both current and discontinued models.

There are two Xtrordinair versions, the “medium size” 36 and the “large” 44. Recent production (after the year 1995) standardizes both so that your replacement catalytic combustor is Condar’s Combustor Number CC-453.

This combustor is 3.6 inches wide, 18 inches long, and 3 inches thick. It has 25 cells per square inch, and is canned. (By canning, it’s meant that the ceramic has a stainless steel strip welded around it.) If you need expanding gasket material to install this replacement catalytic combustor, you’ll need to order it separately.

For earlier 44 versions, be sure to carefully note your Travis model number. The FPX44AZC and the FPX44 require a replacement combustor that is thinner (2 inches thick), shorter (14.2 inches long), is 16 cells per square inch, and is NOT canned.

This uncanned combustor comes to you wrapped with expanding gasket material for installation.

For earlier 36 versions, there are two different replacement combustors.

Check your Travis model number: The FPX36F uses a combustor that is 2 inches thick. This one is 3.625 inches wide by 12.250 inches long. It’s canned, 16 cells per square inch.
